Ranga Shankara Theatre Festival
Far from a conventional theatre showcase, this annual event features a vibrant array of Indian theatre, all meticulously curated based on a central theme. It not only serves as a dynamic cultural platform, but also one that encourages connections, exchange of ideas, and experiences among theatre professionals.
AHA! International Theatre for Children Festival
Through the AHA! Theatre for Children Festival we showcase some extraordinary national and international productions for young audiences. Plays come from several countries of the world for this festival that takes place in Jun-Jul every year. In the Indian section, we present the best of what India is watching that year and also bring some folk forms that our young people should see. The AHA! Festival is over a fortnight, with productions that are designed for different age
AHA! Theatre for Children Festival
AHA! is Ranga Shankara’s most ambitious programme to date, bringing the magic of theatre in all its aspects to children. We firmly believe that children are the future audience, and inculcating a love for the arts, an eye, and an ear for the theatre would surely make them into empathetic and responsible citizens of the world. Since its launch in 2006, AHA! has grown organically and continues to do so, adding programmes, dimensions, audiences, international collaborations and more, as one of the country’s most important and sustained theatre for children (TFC) programmes.
Theatre is an important educator outside the classroom and the standardized test models that students bear the brunt of. AHA! is on top of our agenda. If children are exposed to theatre from an early age, they grow up to become curious, aware and engaged citizens. They are more likely to become ‘trained audiences’ – an important bank that raises the bar for the theatre community.
Inter College Theatre Festival
The college years are undoubtedly the most fruitful period of any students life. At Ranga Shankara, we are fully committed to utilizing this opportunity to connect with the youth of the nation through theatre. We refer to this event not as a competition but as a festival. This is because we believe that theatre can instill sincerity and integrity in its participants, making it an invaluable experience for all involved.
