At Ranga Shankara, we believe in recycling and reusing as much as we can, converting a simple prop to a fully equipped puppet theatre — the ‘Maruti Puppet Theatre’. Perhaps the smallest theatre in the country, this theatre has been built into the boot of the Maruti 800, India’s beloved family car. The theatre accommodates one performer only but can have an audience of up to 25 children.

RS Connect
Conceived as a response to the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, RS Connect played a crucial role in the healing process of individuals grappling with the profound societal fractures that emerged during this period. Recognizing the societal obligation incumbent upon places like Ranga Shankara, the venue adapted by showcasing performances in the ground floor open foyer, for 35-40 individuals while adhering to social distancing protocols. Despite the constraints imposed by the pandemic, Ranga Shankara remained a vibrant space by hosting programs of great social importance and resilience in its commitment to fostering cultural engagement.
Staged@RS
In response to the pandemic’s limitations, this initiative focused on recording exceptional plays for broader access, leveraging digital platforms to continue sharing the magic of theatre. It’s a step towards building a lasting legacy of Indian theatre for future generations to cherish.
